We have visited Yamato, one of the oldest teppanyaki style restaurants in Canada.
The words teppan (鉄板), which means “iron plate,” and yaki (焼き), which means “grilled.”
Meet Harold – our chef for today’s dinner.
We were served salad and beef broth soup as starters…
…as Harold prepared the fried rice.
He put on a show!
We tried the “Lobster & Sirloin”…
…and “Sake” - Salmon Teriyaki from their dinner menu.
Because this is a teppanyaki restaurant, other guests are also seated around the chef.
There is also a sushi bar.
You can find Yamato in the heart of Yorkville.
