Union Station is Toronto’s transportation gateway.
It’s built in a classical revival style that’s synonymous with progress and prosperity.
The iconic Royal Fairmont Hotel sits directly across from the station.
Inside, the Grand Terminal has huge arched ceilings and dim lighting. I
Construction began in 1915 and didn’t complete until 1927 after being delayed by World War 1.
Terminal walls are engraved with Canadian cities.
The food court is home to a McDonalds…
…and of course a Starbucks too.
Though significantly quieter during Covid-19, Union Station is sure to grow busy again as Toronto opens up.
