The Cheltenham Badlands are one of Ontario’s more dramatic and unusual geographic wonders.
The badlands are the results of farming practices that caused the shallow topsoil to erode away— which exposed underlying Queenston shale.
To get to the badlands, you’ll need to walk a short, looping trail.
The trail is one-way only.
After the short trail you’ll arrive at the boardwalk.
You can no longer walk on the badlands themselves— the boardwalk is meant to preserve them.
Follow the looping trail back out of the badlands.
You can use this ground brush to remove any soil and dirt from your shoes before going back to the car.
An early parking reservation is required for visitors which costs $25 + H.S.T.
