Ontario Place originally opened in 1972 as a way to promote the province.
It closed down in 2012 but is still open to walk around and explore.
The “abandoned” theme park attractions are found in West Island which you can access by a bridge near the Imax entrance.

Last year the Cinesphere was still playing movies— though it’s closed now due to Covid-19.
The Cinesphere’s 80 foot screen was the world’s first permanent IMAX theatre.
The suspended pod pavilions aimed to showcase what “Ontario could achieve technologically”.
Trillium Park is right next to Ontario Place and opened in 2017. It’s worth a visit!
There’s a great view of the lake— popular with boaters in the summer.
